Level 1

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as Hardware and Networking Service Support I with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure sector in the field of Hardware and Networking Servicing.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Connect Hardware Peripherals,
  • Operate Personal Computers,
  • Protect Applications or System Software,
  • Install Software Applications,
  • Develop Computer Keyboard Skills,
  • Create and Use Spreadsheets,
  • Maintain Equipment and Software Inventory and Documentation,
  • Identify and Use Network Hand Tools,
  • Access and Use the Internet, and
  • Apply 5S Procedures

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 2

The Program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a Hardware and Network Service Support II with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure sector in the field of Hardware and Networking Servicing.

Graduates are therefore expected to

  • operate database applications,
  • install and optimize operating system software,
  • administrate network and hardware peripherals,
  • care for network and computer hardware,
  • update and document operational procedures,
  • implement maintenance procedures,
  • maintain equipment and consumables,
  • connect internal hardware components,
  • apply problem-solving techniques to routine malfunctions,
  • record client support requirements,
  • prevent and eliminate MUDA

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 3

The Program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the learners to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. Learners who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as Hardware and Network Service Technician with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure Sector in the field of Hardware and Network Servicing.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Identify and Resolve Network Problems,
  • Create Technical Documentation,
  • Determine Best-Fit Topology,
  • Monitor and Administer System and Network Security,
  • Provide First Level Remote Help Desk,
  • Configure and Administer Server, and
  • Install and manage Network protocols

in accordance with the performance criteria described in the OS.

Level 4

The Program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as Hardware and Network Middle Technical Manager with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure sector in the field of Hardware and Network Servicing.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Provide Network System Administration,
  • Develop System Infrastructure Design Plan,
  • Build Internet Infrastructure;
  • Build a small wireless LAN,
  • Manage network security,
  • Determine Maintenance Strategy, and
  • Conduct/Facilitate User Training

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 5

The Program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the learners to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. Learners who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as Hardware and Network Service Technical Manager with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure Sector in the field of Hardware and Network Servicing.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Research and Review Hardware Technology Options for Organizations
  • Prepare Disaster Recovery and Contingency Plan
  • Assist with Policy Development for Client Support
  • Establish and Maintain Client User Liaison
  • Match IT Needs with the Strategic Direction of the Enterprise
  • Install, Configure and Test Router, and
  • Install and manage complex ICT networks Plan and Monitor the System Pilot
