Level 2

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainee who successfully completes the program will be qualified to work as a Cadastral Surveying and Mapping Assistant with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic and Infrastructure sector in the field of Cadastral Surveying and Mapping. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Read and Interpret Maps and Plans,
  • Organize and Maintain Equipment and Supplies/Accessories,
  • Conduct Basic Land Surveys,
  • Perform Surveying Computations,
  • Perform Basic Aerial Photography and Image Interpretation,
  • Collect Spatial Socio-Economic Data,
  • Operate Basic Application Software Packages,
  • Apply Basic Land and Landed Property Law,
  • Apply Street Addressing,
  • Maintain Effective Relationships with Clients/Customers,
  • Participate in Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices, and
  • Apply 5S Procedures

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 3

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The Trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a Cadastral Surveying and Mapping Technician with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic and Infrastructure sector in the field of Cadastral Surveying and Mapping. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competences specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Operate and Maintain Surveying Equipment,
  • Collect and Interpret Basic Cadastral Survey Data,
  • Perform and Manage Advanced Surveying Computations,
  • Plan and Conduct Cadastral Survey Expeditions,
  • Set-out Basic Surveying Data,
  • Develop and Use Spread Sheets,
  • Integrate Cadastral Surveying Dataset,
  • Perform Cadastral Drawing Applications,
  • Perform Stereoscopic Model Formation and Feature Identification,
  • Operate GIS Software to Spatial and Non-spatial Analysis,
  • Produce Digital Data and Produce Base Map,
  • Identify Land and Property Boundary,
  • Apply Land and Planning Law to Surveying,
  • Resolve Disputes through Negotiation, and
  • Prevent and Eliminate MUDA using problem-Solving Tools

Level 4

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainees who successfully completed the program will be qualified to work as a Cadastral Surveying and Mapping Expert with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic and Infrastructure sector in the field of Cadastral Surveying and Mapping. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Conduct GNSS Data Collection,
  • Computation and Set-out Survey,
  • Manage Control Survey Works,
  • Perform Adjudication for Legal Cadaster,
  • Conduct Cadastral Survey project,
  • Develop Subdivision Survey Design,
  • Produce Block Diagram,
  • Perform Aerial Triangulation and DTM Generation,
  • Produce Ortho-photo Maps, Perform 2D and 3D Feature Extraction,
  • Undertake Field Verification and Completion,
  • Assess Applications for Legislative Compliance and
  • Undertake Cadastral Surveying Work Improvement

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 5

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainee who successfully completes the program will be qualified to work as a Cadastral Surveying and Mapping Administration with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic and Infrastructure sector in the field of Cadastral Surveying and Mapping. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Create Public awareness on Spatial Information Services,
  • Facilitate Spatial Data Storage Design System,
  • Establish a Database for Natural and Cultural Feature Names,
  • Monitor and Administer Database,
  • Implement Land and Property Policy,
  • Participate in Planning and Managing Land Use,
  • Plan Implementation on Informal Settlement,
  • Plan and Manage Mapping Activities,
  • Plan Image Control Point Survey and Map Production Activities,
  • Conduct Advanced Remote Sensing Analysis,
  • Prepare and Manage Street Address Standards, and
  • Prepare Technical Reports and Manage Quality Customer Service
